Just How Safe are You while Online?

While the internet connects us globally to interact, entertain ourselves, exchange knowledge and access information easily, it comes with multiple risks to us the users —scams, propaganda, hate speech, cyberbullying, and fake news etc. which threatens our safety, security and well-being.

As agents of change who rely on internet for messaging, we have the power to create a safer digital space by being responsible and aware of; digital threats amidst us, key actors, use of divisive/manipulative coded language to be able to come up with mitigative measures.

In Busia, the youths are mainly targeted and used by people including our leaders to spread hate speech, propaganda and tribalism for their selfish gains.

The Call: Let’s think and join hands in creating a safer digital space/online community.
