The ABEDEV Civic Initiatives

Since March 2025, a Nairobi-based national NGO, Siasa Place has reached out to ABEDEV on various occasions and sponsored various youth-targeting activities.

These have included a sporting event in which youth held dialogue on the state of public service provision in Samia subcounty (March 2025), online conversations on the state of hygiene in public markets in Samia subcounty (May 2025) and status of Muluanda border post (July 2025) and ward-based dialogues on challenges which youth face in acquiring their national identification cards.

The initiatives are helpful in keeping youth engaged and mobilized for various civic-oriented engagements. By December 2025, ABEDEV seeks a more structured engagement with Siasa Place in order to make the initiatives better organised, resourced and delivered beyond ad hoc and one-off engagements.
